While the manufacturers claim thsi is the best joint supplement in the world, the truth is that it looks more like a scam than a natural joint pain reliever. Poor ingredients, unproven substances, low doses, and an inflatd price tag; it can’t get much worse! Better joint supplements are available.
What is Heal n Soothe?
Heal n Soothe is described as “mother nature’s feel good formula”. The official website is very light on the details with regards to what Heal n Soothe actually does. There’s a lot of talk about it being a “systemic enzyme complex” which promotes overall health and wellness. Eventually though, we’re told that Heal n Soothe is a joint supplement.
According to the website, Heal n Soothe delivers a number of benefits, including:
- Improved joint comfort and reduced joint pain
- Improved flexibility and mobility
- Reduced inflammation
The website doesn’t go into much detail on how Heal n Soothe is supposed to deliver all of these benefits. To figure out if it can really do all of these things, we need to take a closer look at the Heal n Soothe ingredients and see if they can do anything for joint pain, joint comfort, or flexibility.

I’ll now go through the Heal n Soothe ingredients one by one, explaining what they do, if they work, how they work, and what we make of the side effect risks.
Synthetic Enzyme Blend – 750mg
According to the makers of Heal n Soothe, the proteolytic enzyme blend in Heal n Soothe helps removed damaged proteins from the site of injury or irritation, which in turn helps with healing and tissue repair. This is, as far as I can tell, total nonesense. There is little evidence that enzymes such as papain and bromelain (which are found in Papaya and Pineappale respectively) can reduce acute joint pain or promote joint health in any meaningful way.
This is not to say that specific enzymes are totally useless when it comes to managing arthritis and providing natural joint pain relief. It is just that small amounts of bromelain are not going to make a noticeable difference to joint discomfort, not without the help of other effective joint pain relivers.
Citrus Bioflavonoid Complex – 90mg
The Heal n Soothe website claims that citrus bioflavonoid complex helps keep your cartilage healthy. Again, I have seen absolutely no good reason to believe this claim. There are no indepdenent clinical trials showing that citrus bioflavonoids can alleviate joint pain by any measurable degree. Citrus bioflavonoids do have anti-inflammatory properties, but this does not seem to be powerful enough to ease joint pain arising from arthritis or joint injury.
Rutin – 30mg
Rutin is a bioflavonoid (i.e. plant pigment) found in many common vegetables and fruits. It has some powerful antioxidant properties, and it is thought to potentiate the action of Vitamin C. There is also evidence that rutin may help the body better produce collagen; this, copled with its antioxidant activity, is why it is a common ingredient in joint supplements.
However, the dosage of Rutin we get from Heal n Soothe is PATHETIC! Some supplements contain up to 500mg of Rutin; Heal n Soothe gives us a useless 30mg.
Boswellia Serrata – 150mg
Boswellia Serrata is the first ingredient in Heal n Soothe that I actually recognize as a joint supplement ingredient! The resin of the Boswellia Serrata tree has been used for centuries as a general cure for inflammation and joint pain.
Unlike many “traditional medicines”, Boswellia serrata actually has solid scientific backing; it is uniquely rich in a group of compounds called Boswellic acids. One Boswellic acid in particular, AKBA, blocks an enzyme called 5-LOX. This enzyme gradually erodes cartilage over time. By inhibiting 5-LOX, Boswellic acids prevent cartilage injuries, the primary cause of joint pain in older people (along with inflammation and arthritis).
The only issue with Heal n Soothe is that it uses a standard Bowellia Serrata extract that may actually be low in Boswellic acids. Most high qualiuty joint supplements use Boswellic acid-rich extracts with given potencies.
Ginger Root – 90mg
Ginger root extract has no joint pain relieving properties whatsoever. I have never seen a clinical trial showing significant reductions in joint pain or joint discomfort from people using ginger root extract. Any ginger root extract. I have no idea why this has been included in Heal n Soothe, other than to pad out the formula while keeping costs to a minimum. You’re certainly not going to get any serious benefit from 90mg of ginger root powder!
Turmeric Rhizome – 60mg
Turmeric is a classic joint supplement ingredient. The reason turmeric is used in so many joint supplements is that it contains a large amount of curcumin; a natual polyphenol known to have extraordinarily powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Consuming curcumin lowers systemic inflammation, which helps ease joint pain (especially joint pain stemming from inflammation as is the case with rheumatoid arthritis).
Clinical trials have found that consuming potent curcumin supplements reduces joint pain and improves mobility, even in people with various forms of arthritis (e.g rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis). The problem with Heal n Soothe’s curcumin is the dose. For one thing, we just get turmeric, not a powerful curcumin concentrate. The dose is also laughably low – JUST 60MG PER SERVING! Most joint supplements that use turmeric will give you several hundred milligrams minimum.
Devil’s Claw Root Extract – 30mg
I could find no convincing evidence to show that Devil’s Claw Root has any positive effect on joint health or joint pain at all. None. There are no good, independent, peer-reviewed clinical trials in which people given Devil’s Claw Root Extract showed markedly better mobility, flexibility or joint comfort. I therefore do not understand why this ingredient has been added to Heal n Soothe; a supplement specifically marketed for natural joint pain relief.
Alpha Lipoic Acid – 50mg
Alpha Lipoic Acid, or ALA as it is more commonly known, is an omega 3 fatty acid. It is by far the most common omega 3 fatty acid in te human diet; ALA is found in large amounts in vegetable oils, nuts, beans, and seeds. So while omega 3 fatty acids may be generally very good for your health – and for joint pain relief – we don’t really want any extra ALA from supplements. Almost all of us get plenty fro food.
The omega 3 fatty acids we want are DHA and EPA. These are only found in a small number of foods, and in smaller quantities. These are the omega 3s with the biggest benefits, and the body struggles to make them in sufficient quantities by itself (although it can make some from ALA). Heal n Soothe’s 50mg of ALA is practically pointless. Most good omega 3 supplements contain 300mg of DHA, and good quality ALA supplements will provide 600mg minimum.
Yucca Root – 90mg
Finally, we get to the final Heal n Soothe ingredient. Unfortunately, this ingredient is just as useless as the others. Yucca Root is described on the Heal n Soothe website as being “rich in antioxidants” and as an anti-inflammatory.
While there is some evidence that Yucca Root has anti-inflammatory effects, and that it acts as a powerful antioxidant, we once again have a serious dosing issue. Like all the other Heal n Soothe ingredients, the Yucca Root is aggressively under-dosed. Instead of the 500mg used in clinical trials, we get just 90mg; hardly enough for the body to even register. It is unlikely that you’ll see any arthritis-fighting anti-inflammatory action from 90mg of Yucca Root!
Formula Analysis: Is Heal n Soothe a good joint supplement?
After reviewing Heal n Soothe’s ingredients and their dosages, I really don’t think this is an effective natural supplement for joint pain relief.
While Heal n Soothe is billed as being an amazing natural joint pain relief supplement, it looks nothing like any of the best joint supplements on the market today.
The overriding issue with Heal n Soothe is ingredient dosing. While it contains some ingredients that are effective for fighting inflammation, reducing symptoms of arthritis, and promoting joint health long-term, all of the best ingredients are dosed far too low to have any kind of effect.
The biggest example of this is the turmeric. The best joint supplements on the market today contain several hundred milligrams of curcumin-rich turmeric. Our current top rated joint supplement contains 250mg of turmeric standardized to be a mssive 20% curcumin. The 60mg of basic turmeric in Heal n Soothe is siply not enough for a serious joint supplement.
Ingredient doses aren’t the only problem with Heal n Soothe though. Another serious issue is the use of useless, unproven, ineffectctive filler ingredients.
Things like ginger root, rutin and papaya extract have no positive effect on joint pain, joint health, or flexibility. I was not able to find a single independent clinical trial showing significiant benefits from the use of these ingredients.
There’s none of the standard ingredients in high-quality joint supplements in Heal n Soothe either: there’s no MSM, no Chondroitin, and no Glucosamine Sulfate!
All-in-all, this is a pretty poor joint supplement.
Heal n Soothe is under-dosed in all the most important places, and it is missing key components that make a great joint supplement (like Performance Lab Flex). In buying Heal n Soothe you’re paing for a lot of useless filler ingredients. You’d be better off just buying a turmeric supplement!
Heal n Soothe Side Effects: Are there any health warnings?
Any Heal n Soothe review needs to have an in-depth look at the potential side effects. This is especially true for supplements designed to provide pain relief, as they can often be stuffed full of potentially dangerous ingredients. More worring, some joint supplements may have interactions with pain medications and arthritis drugs.
So, is Heal n Soothe safe to take?
For most people, Heal n Soothe should be safe to take, assuming you take it as directed by the manufacturer. Generally speaking, the ingredients in Heal n Soothe do not pose any significant side effect risks or long-term health problems. Turmeric/curcumin supplements are typically extremely safe and well tolerated; they do not even cause stomach discomfort.
The enzymes in Heal n Soothe are also not a serious cause for concern. Consuming natural enzymes such as bromelain does not normally cause any side effects beyond mild stomach discomfort.
However, that is not to say that Heal n Soothe is safe. Because it contains so many unusual ingredients that have not been thoroughly studied in clinical trials on people with arthritis, it is very possible that Heal n Soothe may have adverse effects and surprising interactions.
I strongly advise against using any supplement which contains exotic, unusual ingredients which have not been properly tested in clinical trials, particularly when they haven’t been tested in the context of joint pain relief.
Heal n Soothe Dosage: How much should I take?
How much Heal n Soothe should you be taking?
The label clearly states that a single serving of Heal n Soothe is 3 capsules. This is a standard serving and a maximum serving; it is not advisable to take a larger dose than 3 capsules in any given 24 hours.
The reason for this is likely because that is the maximum dose of the Heal N Soothe ingredients known to not cause side effects. Consuming more than 3 capules in any 24 hour period is probably going to drastically increase the risk of you experiencing side effects such as stomach cramps, digestive discomfort, diarrhea, and so on.
Is Heal n Soothe FDA approved?
Heal-n-Soothe is not FDA approved. It is a nutritional supplement, and as such does not fall under FDA jurisdiction.
Heal n Soothe is, however, a trademark registered joint pain relief supplement. It is made in the USA in an FDA registered facility with Goods Manufacturing Practice certification. But as it is made of natural herbal extracts and ingredients, it does not require FDA approval.
The only time joint supplements like Heal n Soothe get FDA approval is when they make valid medical claims. This is, as you might expect, extremely rare. More often than not, the FDA gets involved in nutritional supplement markets to tell them to stop making medical claims.

Would I recommend it for people living with arthritis or chronic joint pain?
The answer to all of these questions is “no”.
I do not think that Heal n Soothe is effective for treating arthritis, joint pain caused by inflammtion, or chronic mobility issues. The fact that Heal n Soothe is marketed as providing natural joint pain relief for peolpe with arthritis is, in my view, almost criminal.
The anti-inflammatory action of Heal n Soothe is pretty much non-existent. Taking 90mg of Turmeric is not going to make any kind of difference to your joint health, nor will it reduce inflammation by any measurable degree.
Heal n Soothe contains none of the ingredients that are standard in high-quality joint supplements; there’s no MSM, no Chondroitin, no Strontium, and no Glucosamine. This, coupled with the many bogus, ineffective, untestd fillers in Heal n Soothe, and we have a recipe for one awful joint supplment.
Weighing up the pros and cons of Heal n SOothe is fairly simple, as there aren’t many pros to weigh at all! Better joint asupplements than Heal n Soothe are available; there’s no doubt about that!
