  • Turmeric extract (95% curcuminoids) – 200mg
  • Ginger extract – 250mg
  • Glucosamine HCl – 500mg
  • Chondroitin – 100mg

We’ll now go through each Physio Flex Pro ingredient one-by-one and explain what it does, why it has been chosen, and what we make of the dosage.

Turmeric Extract – 200mg

Turmeric is a central ingredient in every good joint supplement, and with good reason. Turmeric works! The root of the turmeric plant is a unique source of curcumin; a compound with incredibly powerful anti-inflammatory properties.

Studies show that curcumin inhibits the activity of COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, which are responsible for inflammation. This is why clinical trials have found turmeric extract to be so effective for treating joint pain associated with inflammation, including the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, tendonitis and cartilage damage associated with sports injuries. Physio Flex Pro only contains 200mg of turmeric, but the extract used is 95% curcuminoids, which is an invcredibly powerful turmeric extract.

Ginger Extract – 250mg

The use of ginger for health purposes dates back to ancient times in China and India where people would drink ginger tea as a form of prevention against different types of ailments such as colds, headaches, stomachaches, nausea, facial paralysis or even insect bites. While many of these “traditional medicine” uses are bogus, clinical studies have shown that ginger is highly effective at treating joint pain.

Ginger has powerful anti-inflammatory properties due to its active ingredient, gingerol. This compound inhibits the production of cytokines which are the body’s response to, and a cause of, inflammation. Supplementing with ginger has been shown to dramatically reduce joint pain among people with inflammation-related joint pain.

Glucosamine HCl – 500mg

Glucosamine is a naturally occurring amino sugar found in great concentrations in your joints. It is a key building block of many of the tissues that make up and surround your joints, including cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and the synovial fluid which lubricates, cushions and protects your joints. Studies show that glucosamine supplementation may increase chondrocyte cells which are responsible for repairing and regenerating cartilage.

All of the best joint supplements need some glucosamine, and ideally glucosamine HCl as it is the most bioavailable form. Glucosamine supplements can be taken by mouth or through injection into a joint for more severe cases. The 500mg of Glucosamine HCl in Physio Flex Pro is more than you need to get signifciant benefits from this supplement.

Chondroitin – 100mg

Chondroitin is a proteoglycan that plays a crucial role in the construction of cartilage. If any supplement is capable of strengthening and repairing cartilage, it’s chondroitin.

Chondroitin is primarily found in cartilage and synovial fluid, and it forms an important part of the extracellular matrix of cartilage. As it has a strong attraction to water, chondroitin pulls water molecules into your cartilage, helping to keep it strong, lubricated, and able to absorb shocks and impacts. Chondroitin also promotes the action of the chondrocyte cells that regulate cartilage growth and repair.

This is why supplementing with chondroitin has been found to be such a powerful and effective joint supplement, particularly for people struggling with joint pain related to cartilage damage (e.g. tendonitis or osteoarthritis). Studies are currently looking at the effectiveness of glucosamine and chondroitin as a treatment for osteoarthritis pain. Longer term studies are needed but initial results are very promising. The 100mg in Physio Flex Pro is more than the research indicates you need to see results.

MSM – 100mg

MSM is a naturally occurring compound found in high concentrations in your connective tissues. It is a vital structural component of collagen, chondroitin and glucosamine, as well as other compounds needed to form and maintain joints.

Studies have shown that supplementing with MSM is a safe and effective way to improve joint strength, flexibility and mobility while also reducing joint pain. The clinical evidence suggests that MSM supplementation can slow down cartilage erosion. The 100mg we get in Physio Flex Pro is a perfect dose.

Selenium – 200mcg

Selenium is an essential mineral. It is important for the formation of healthy bones and connective tissue.

In one study, bromelain was actually found to be more effective than the pain reliever diclofenac at relieving osteoarthritis knee pain.
