Dr. Robert Kolodner appointed ViTel Net's Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Former national health IT coordinator Dr. Robert Kolodner has been named VP and CMO of ViTel Net, a McLean, Va.-based telehealth and mobile health services company. This is his first venture into the vendor world after more than three decades of government service and, more recently, work with an open-source health IT software. But in some ways, the move represents a return to an earlier point in his career -- and the maturation of the telehealth market.

Continua Developer Tools Now Available in Open Health Tools Project and on Continua Website 

Continua Health Alliance today announced it has published four primary components on Open Health Tools, the Open Source clearinghouse for health IT projects. Continua has also created a Developer Resources area on its website to promote public access to key development tools that support certification according to its Design Guidelines for personal connected health devices and systems. In addition to Continua's source code library, the Alliance is working with Open Health to publish Open Source code covering all Continua end-to-end interfaces.
