Communications Plan
The Open Health Tools Communications Plan addresses the immediate needs of the organization in addition to defining strategic considerations that guide future work. The Communication Plan is one functional area of the broader OHT Strategic Plan and as such is designed to support and satisfy the business requirements outlined in the Strategic Plan. Likewise, the Communication Plan is divided into discrete, functional areas that can be managed and measured against clearly defined completion criteria.
The Open Health Tools Communications Plan will outline the strategy for communicating the following:
- Success of Open Health Tools
- Value of the asset base
- Distribution of information assets
The Communications plan will communicate the success of OHT through Messaging, Media and Processes, to a variety of Audiences. The plan will communicate what we are doing and why we are doing it, communicate what will be different as a result, as well as define and speak to all of our audiences. The Communications Plan will present a means for providing a consistent message to the OHT community.
The Communications Plan will communicate our asset base including artifacts, code and information assets. This will require consciousness-raising among the community through the communication of skills, knowledge, awareness, and information. To do this, the Communications Plan will explain the different projects within Open Health Tools, the project goals, and the value of the project to the community. This will require that the Developers and Project Leads explain what they’re doing in a way that is understandable to a non-technical audience.
Distribution is a core OHT technology. The Communications Plan will outline the process whereby organizations can distribute their information assets and code assets to practitioners. Practitioners will have the ability to customize and configure the available material into a format and product that is meaningful to them.
